In case a person can simply buy and sell his securities on the same day without holding them, the transaction (made in the transit) is called a Trading Account. While a Demat account helps you hold a security for a long time, a Trading account aids you in buying and selling without holding.
The main difference between a Demat and a Trading account is that while Demat accounts are used to hold the securities for the investor, trading accounts allow the purchase and sale of these securities.
So when you buy any securities, the purchase is made with a trading account. These securities are then deposited into your Demat account. Similarly, when you sell securities, they are taken from your Demat account and sold through your trading account.
